Your questions
Who can take part?
Ad-Infer can interview research subjects, patients and family members with or without the condition being studied. Eligibility depends on the particular study. Contact the team if your situation is not explained.
Why is my help valuable?
Your experience provides information that clinical records alone may not describe: symptoms, changes over time and effects on daily life. The aim is to improve knowledge and future research; personal medical benefit cannot be guaranteed.
What happens during the interview?
Select “Share your experience”. Ad-Infer asks structured questions and uses the responses to determine the next questions. Follow the instructions displayed. You can review the study information and ask the team questions before deciding to take part.
How much time should I allow?
The duration depends on the interview path and your answers. Contact the team for the expected duration in your study. You can stop the interview; arrangements for returning depend on the access instructions displayed.
Why ask for a phone number or email address?
Depending on the interview path, these details help verify access and deliver a login code. Their use is described in the Privacy Policy. Standard message and data rates may apply to text messages.
What happens to my responses?
The interview concerns your health and experience. Read the Privacy Policy for the information collected, its uses and how to request access, correction or deletion. Ask the team any questions before providing sensitive information.
Why would you ask to contact my relatives?
During the interview, we may ask whether you can give us a way to contact members of your family. We explain why these family links are important for the research.
The experiences of relatives who have the condition being studied and relatives who do not have it help us explore similarities and differences within a family, including health context and shared experiences.
Discuss the invitation with your relatives before sharing their contact details. Each person decides about their own participation, under the study’s arrangements.
Can I help a child or an older adult enter their responses?
A third party can help enter the responses. The interview should reflect the person’s responses, following the study’s instructions. For a child, contact the team first about age eligibility and arrangements for parents or legal guardians.
Can I discuss this with my doctor?
Yes. The For clinicians page presents the team, method and scientific resources. Your clinician can contact the team to request documents specific to the study.
Will I receive a diagnosis or personal results?
Participation contributes to research. Ask the team which results, if any, are shared in this study. For decisions about your care, speak with your treating clinician.
Where can I find the participation arrangements?
Read the information specific to your study, the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. If information is missing, contact the team before starting.
The interview does not open. What should I do?
